I had to laugh every time the author questioned why someone would read this book without having read the first one. I’m one of those people he was questioning. Why would I read this book before the first? The book sounded interesting, and I didn’t realize it was the second in a series until I was already reading it. Figured I might as well continue.
The good news, even though the author was confused, I’m ready to read the first book now and see how everything started.
This book had a ton of humor that I’m pretty sure I appreciated more as an adult than I would have as a child. The cast of characters in Huggabie Falls is all over the place, in a good way. It’s like the opposite of those futuristic books where everyone is the same. I would rather have the variety. It helps keep things unpredictable.
