My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Funny, You Don’t Look Autistic is a humorous first hand look at life on the autism spectrum. I appreciate that while this is a memoir, it doesn’t focus on just Michael’s way of looking at things. Different perspectives are shown throughout, which I feel helps being awareness to the ways that autism can manifest. There are so many preconceived notions about it, that having real representation is important.

For those looking for a way to understand autism and enjoy humor, I would recommend this book. It isn’t all laughs, but worth the read.

  1. I read this book recently and really enjoyed it. I was almost as good as two of my top favorite Autism spectrum memoirs, ‘Look Me in the Eye’ and ‘Parallel Play.’ I hope this author keeps writing! 🙂
