I almost DNF’d this book. I’ve tried to read it multiple times in the past and always given up. This time I had the audio book and so I just kept going. Honestly, the violence got to me. The teachers standing by doing nothing got to me. The whole disgusting situation just got to me, and I know people will talk about a deeper meaning behind it all, but I can’t see beyond the face value. Adults are seen as people, but ones easily ignored and not worth your time, and females are just objects. Besides a character trying to think for himself instead of just being part of the machine that resides in the school, I find nothing redeemable about this book.
