Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Tuesdays at the Castle was a cute middle-grade book that was a good start to a series. As an adult, I found myself not as into the story as a reader in the middle-grade age range.
I enjoyed the relationship between Celie and the castle. Especially the fact that one of the older kids mentioned that the castle loved Celie so much that if she were to do something, I won’t say what, that the castle would probably protect her. Of course, the other kids made sure to mention that she shouldn’t try it. By the end, that theory was put to the test. It was a nice way to tie the book together.
All in all, a good middle-grade fantasy novel.
