I like reading new spins on classic fairy tales, and this book was a good one. In a way, it kind of mocked the classic stories. The classic stories have the princesses who are protected and saved by Prince Charming. This series pokes fun at the fact that while the princes are the ones saving the princesses, they are never actually named.
Here, not only are the princes named, but they are not as heroic and charming as we think. On the other hand, the princesses are not as helpless, which leads to them being able to do something besides stand by and wait to be saved.
The character development helped to bring life to the story, and I’m glad this series was created.
