Return by Aaron BeckerMy rating: 2 of 5 stars
This is the first picture book I’ve ever seen that is actually part of a trilogy. I kind of wonder how that works. I checked this one out at the library without knowing that there are two previous books, so I’m sure the story line would have made more sense if I had the whole thing instead of just the end. This is the epitome of a picture book. There are no words at all, so the illustrations have to carry the story. I was reminded of Harold and the Purple Crayon while reading. It’s one of those books where the imagination of a child creates a new world.
