I started reading this series after I had already watched the first season of the Netflix show. I have to say, this is one of those raw times when I can truly say that I like both. They have their differences, but I find both enjoyable.
I wish I had found this series when I was a kid, I would have devoured it. Mildred is a character I can really get behind. She tries so hard, and I can’t help rooting for her. I think that Mildred not being some great and powerful person makes her someone kids can relate to more than others. It’s important to show kids that sometimes you fail, but you keep trying.
