Mr. Lemoncello’s All-Star Breakout Game

Mr. Lemoncello's All-Star Breakout Game (Mr. Lemoncello's Library, #4)Mr. Lemoncello’s All-Star Breakout Game by Chris Grabenstein
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Every time I read one of the books in this series, I wish the library was real.

The new characters brought something to the story without taking a lot of focus away from the main characters. They were fleshed out enough to make them relevant to the story, but not enough to distract from the story line. That is a fine line to walk when introducing secondary characters, especially in a series where the main characters are already well established, and Chris Grabenstein handled it wonderfully.

As with the rest of the books in the series, I enjoyed the scattered references to other books. Sometimes, there was a clear reference, but most of the time titles were mentioned during random conversations. I always feel well-read when I am able to spot the books named, especially when I have actually read them before. At some point, I think it would be nice for a list to come out with all of the books mentioned in this series. I want to read them all, but the ones I haven’t read are the ones I most likely do not notice when they are mentioned.
