Simon Fayter and the Titan’s Groan by Austin J. BaileyMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I am late in my review, but like always, I love Austin J. Bailey’s books. There was so much going on in this one. For anyone thinking about reading this series, never skip to the first chapter. There are great things that happen before you even really start reading the book.
I was really proud of the growth of Simon’s friends. I was really rooting for Drake to finally get the chance to grow. He’s wanted it for so long. Although, for a minute I thought his little experiment had gone horribly wrong when Simon met up with him in Tarinea. Jeez Austin J. Bailey, don’t scare me like that. I know time travel is always questionable, but I couldn’t have handled it. Simon needs his friends. He really is kind of lost when left to his own devices.
Of course, Tessa had struggles with the time travel thing. It must be really life threatening to be friends with Simon. Especially since he has lucky days and unlucky days, plus the fact that sometimes he just does something without thinking. Even if you are having a lucky day, you should always think before you do something, especially when it involves the vest.
Speaking of the vest, one of the highlights of this series is finding out what all the knobs do. I wouldn’t be able to come up with as many things as needed to write about something like that, so the answers are always surprising. Sometimes a knobs purpose is revealed and all I can think is that somehow this isn’t going to turn out well.
This series is just fun. There are so many moments of humor mixed in with action and age appropriate drama. A highly recommended series.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
