To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’m not going to lie, I read this book only after watching the Netflix movie. I’m not sure I would have read it otherwise just based off of the title. I normally don’t go for any type of romance in the books I read, so in this case, having a movie made helped me find the book.

I was not ready for all of the drama that fills the pages of this book. I thought I knew what I was getting myself into, but there are a lot of details that were left out of the movie. I know that I should expect something like that, a movie will never follow a book completely, but um, the whole hot tub part, so much more goes on in the book. I was kind of surprised by how much time was spent dealing with that situation.

All in all, it was an enjoyable book, and I feel like the movie at least didn’t hurt. I’m also glad that my teenage years were no where near as dramatic as Lara Jean’s and the other characters in this book. I would have completely lost it.
